Happy 4th of July America...let the truth of Christ ring free!

Transfusion for the Soul
In the POW camp in Hanoi knows as the Zoo–misery came standard issue.  Solitary confinement, torture, and beatings were routine.  One soldier’s description said: “If you could’ve squeezed the feeling out of the word despair, it would’ve come out gray, dull, and lead-colored, dingy and dirty.”
Yet that soldier began his days with his head bent, heart in prayer, staring at the green of a blade of grass.  He called it a “blood transfusion for the soul.”
“If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light.  If you live in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar.”  He is describing the eyes of your heart, your attitude, your outlook, your vision–of life.
Like our soldier, we make daily decisions.  What will it be?  Do we set our eyes on the gray harshness or search for the blade of a different color?
“Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2”
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  Matthew 6:20”
