A person is made right with God through faith.

Good works, suffering, or study may be the result of salvation, they’re not the cause of it!

How will you escape God’s judgment?  One way:  through faith in God’s sacrifice.

It’s not what you do—it’s what He did!   Max Lucado

“She thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed. Mark 5:28”

Faith is the belief that God is real and that God is good.  There was no guarantee for the woman.  She hoped he’d respond.  She longed for it—but she didn’t know if he would.

All she knew was that he was there and that he was good.

Keep the faith :)

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65:7-9

Today I will enjoy the wonders that God has given me and take the time to enjoy them!

Yesterday Tim and I spent the entire day weeding, mowing and pruning. I was the keeper of the power washer....I cleaned everything in sight!

This morning I sat in the rocker on the front porch and took in the beauty of the landscape with the sparkling waters of the lake across the road, all the trees enveloping this little sleepy valley, the budding flowers, the blooming daffodils and forsythia and the birds singing their praises .....I am blessed with His peace and I am thankful for His artistry :)

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galations 6:10

Be kind to one another!

Just as God shows no partiality to any one person we should show His love and respect to anyone that we come into contact with :) especially those of our own family and the Body of Christ.

Tuesday the Moloney Babies spent the night.... did we have fun or what?

Friday the Fulton Babies are spending the night. Forgive me Kaeden you are certainly not a baby but you always will be to me.....kinda like Baby Ashley..... did you say she will soon be 31?   :)

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4”

Grief Takes Time

James 4:4 says, “Your life is like a mist.  You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away.”
We speak of a short life—but compared to eternity, who has a long one?  But in God’s plan every life is long enough and every death is timely.  And though you and I might wish for a longer life, God knows better.
Ecclesiastes 7:3 says, “Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us.”
Egyptians dress in black for six months.  Orthodox Jews offer prayers for a deceased parent every day for eleven months.  Some Muslims wear mourning clothes for a year.  Am I the only one who senses we hurry our hurts?
Did you know that 70% of the Psalms are poems of sorrow?  That the Old Testament includes a book of lamentations?

Grief takes time.  Give yourself some.

Ashley's orchid

I came home Saturday afternoon and there was a beautiful orchid plant and one of the sweetest cards from my baby, Ashley. Sometimes we don't realize the positive affect that we have on those closest to us....it was nice to be reminded!

Tomorrow the Moloney babies are spending the night Marla and Mike are dropping them off on their way home from a road trip to DC. and then Friday Kaeden (and maybe a friend) are spending the night. It will be a fun and full week :)

Today we bowl.....please let it be better than last Monday :(  Who talked me into this anyway?

Here is to a blessed day in Christ...the best kind!

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4”

Our life experiences are given to us to share and to give others hope.... knowing that with God nothing is impossible to overcome if we just abide in His Word!

A Divine Loveburst

When friends of a paralyzed man heard Jesus was in town, they hurried to get their friend to Him.  It was his only hope!  But Jesus was surrounded—packed into a crowded house.  No way they could get inside.  Unless, of course, they lowered him through the roof!  It was risky.  But it was their only chance to see Jesus!  The gospel says, “When Jesus saw the faith of these people, he said to the paralyzed man, ‘Young man, your sins are forgiven.’”

Jesus applauds—not with his hands—but with his heart!

And we witness a divine loveburst!

Sideways Stories From Wayside School

A Common Savior By Max Lucado

“Christ brought us together through his death on the cross.  The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of hostility. Eph 2:14-16 MSG”

Fans rooting for the competition?  Cheerleaders switching loyalties?  What is this?
Kris Hogan skippers a successful Christian high school football program.  He has 70 players, 11 coaches, and parents who wouldn’t miss a game! Their upcoming opponent, Gainesville State School was just the opposite.  Parents don’t watch them play, but 12 uniformed officers do!  Gainesville is a maximum security correctional facility.  With no hope of winning, they’d only scored two touchdowns all year.

The whole situation didn’t seem fair.  So Coach Hogan asked the fans to step across the field for one night, to cheer for the other side.  More than 200 volunteered, including parents and cheerleaders!  They formed a spirit line; painted a banner for the team to burst through; and learned the players’ names.  A Gainesville team member said, “People are usually a little afraid of us.  Most of the time they’re looking at us like we’re criminals.  But these people, they were yellin’ for us—- by our names!”  After the game, another Gainesville player led a prayer & thanked the Lord for showing them there were people in the world who cared about them.
Christ brings us together through his death on the cross.  He creates a new people, not based on a common skin color or family, but based on a common Savior!

God is Real

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1”

Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want.  Faith is the belief that God will do what is right!

The way I read Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:6 is like this:  “Blessed are the dirt-poor, nothing-to-give, trapped-in-a-corner, destitute, and diseased—for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

God’s economy is upside down.  God says the more hopeless your circumstances, the more likely your salvation.  The greater your cares, the more genuine your prayers.  The darker the room, the greater the need for light!  Not too complicated, is it?

Faith isn’t a mystical experience or a midnight vision or a voice in the forest.  It’s a choice—a choice to believe that the one who made it all hasn’t left it all!

Here’s another great definition of faith:  A conviction that he can and a hope that he will!...

Max Lucado certainly has a way with words :)

Every day after posting my Bible Study I look up what Max has to say that day....it is amazing how many times the Holy Spirit has used him to confirm  what He has shown me. What a wonderful God we serve!

“We have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. 2 Corinthians 5:16”

Acts 10:28 says, “God has shown me that he doesn’t think anyone is unclean or unfit.”

We are all salvageable......Praise God :)

“Jesus touched lepers and loved foreigners and spent so much time with partygoers that people called him a lush, a friend of the riffraff. Matt. 11:19” MSG

It gives me hope to know that He could love someone like me :)

It is cold and icy here today but warmer weather is supposed to arrive midweek hopefully it will work :) Craigslist and $500 buys a lot of junk I mean stuff!

Just believe and leave the rest to God :)

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”  Mark 5:36
